At Feeder Creek Veterinary Services, we get a ton of interesting questions from pet parents. Below are some common FAQs that might help answer any questions or concerns. Please feel free to call us at 740-467-2949 for any other concerns you might have about your pet.

Do I need to make an appointment to be seen?

Yes. We see patients Monday through Friday with later evening appointments Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. We also see patients Saturday mornings.

When should I get my dog or cat spayed or neutered?
  • Cats should be spayed or neutered between 4-6 months of age.
  • Dogs vary at what age it’s best to spay or neuter. In general, small to medium dogs should have surgery around 6 months.  Larger breeds should discuss options with the doctor about delayed spaying and neutering.
Do you require rabies vaccines?
Yes. In many counties in Ohio, it is required by law to have your animals current on the rabies vaccine. The protection and health of our staff is of utmost importance to us so we do require our patients to have the vaccine unless there is a health issue that prevents it. (This discretion would be up to the veterinarian.)
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept cash, check, any credit card, CareCredit and Scratchpay.
Do you have emergency hours?
We do have a veterinarian on call after hours, weekends and on holidays. We are able to see most emergencies but do sometimes have to refer critical cases.
What age should my puppy or kitten start vaccines?
6-8 weeks
How do I get a prescription refilled for my pet?
Clients may call in, use our PetDesk app or email us if a refill of a prescription is needed. We do not fill new prescriptions without an exam.
What types of animals do you see?
We basically see anything except spiders. All our veterinarians see large and small animals and Dr. DeHaan additionally sees exotics.
Do you offer boarding or grooming?
Yes, we offer both. We have a boarding staff to care for our patients staying with us and we also have an excellent groomer!
